Who was Michael Oppenheim? Veteran Business Manager Dead at 62

Michael Oppenheim was a veteran business manager who worked with several top artistes in the American music industry like Beyoncé, Eminem, YG, The Smashing Pumpkins, and more.

His professional career as a business manager in the music industry lasted for almost 40 years before he passed away. He died at age 62 after battling cancer. According to sources, he died on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Michael will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Everyone’s consensus is that he was one of the GOOD GUYS! That is a hard reputation to come by in our industry,” his business partner, Bernie Gudvi shared in a statement to pay tribute to his dear friend.

Born in Queens, Michael Oppenheim began his career after graduating and earning an accounting degree from SUNY Buffalo State in 1982. He started his professional career at a New York-based company called Prager and Fenton as a tour accountant.

He moved to Los Angeles to work for Boulevard Management in 1987. Not long after that he moved returned to Prager, but kept living in Southern California and helped quite a great portion of the firm’s clients.
