According to Oxygen.com, Dixie Dyson, 42, reported a crime that her husband, Mel Dyson, 30, was killed.
He was stabbed to death on his bed in his condominium on Nov. 17, 1984.
She also stated that she was raped in her home by an intruder. The perpetrator was not apprehended, and the case remained unsolved for two years.
Mason told producers that detectives tightened surveillance on Dixie sometimes secretly, sometimes openly to let her know that the investigation was still ongoing.
In December 1986, two years after the crime, Dixie Dyson was arrested in connection with the murder.
The detectives got a break when they arrested Dixie for conspiracy to murder her husband.
Dixie began cooperating and confessed as a key witness against her former boyfriend, Enrico Vazquez, 32, and George Ira Lamb, 27.
These two were involved in and planned Mel’s murder.
