In the section titled Brad Forever, a documentary piece about actor Brad Renfro, Haze worked with Franco.

In September 2011, at the Toronto International Film Festival, Franco announced that he was set to direct and adapt Cormac McCarthy’s novel Child of God, Lester Ballard’s story, “a young man who becomes ostracized from society and falls into a life of crime and sexual depravity while living in a cave in Tennessee.” In January 2012, Haze signed on to play Lester Ba’s leading role.

Haze re-teamed on No Exit with his Thank You For Your Service co-star Teller, later re-titled, Only the Brave. The film follows “the true story of a group of firefighters known as the Granite Mountain Hotshots, who lost 19 crew members as they faced one of the deadliest wildfires in history to save a city in Arizona.” Haze plays Clayton Whitted, a firefighter, and pastor.

The movie also stars Josh Brolin, Jennifer Connolly, Jeff Bridges, Taylor Kitsch, and James Badge Dale and is directed by Joseph Kosinski. Sony Pictures released the film on October 20, 2017.
