Ron Wyden is an American politician and retired educator serving as the senior United States senator from Oregon, a seat he has held since 1996.
He previously held office as a Representative for the 3rd District of Oregon from 1981.
Ron is also the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and a senior member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
From 1977 to 1979, Ron was the director of Oregon Legal Services for the Elderly and served as a member of the Oregon State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1980 and served until his election to the U.S. Senate in 1996.
