Richard Madden was born to parents Richard and Patricia Madden (née Mulholland) on June 18, 1986 in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He was raised in his birthplace alongside two sisters; Clara was born in 1983 and Lauren was born in 1988. Her mother worked as a classroom assistant while her father was a firefighter.
Young Richard was far from the piece he now is. He revealed that as a child he was incredibly shy and fat, with a waistline measuring up to 18 inches. Madden explained that the kids at his school often made fun of him and that he was unable to fit into jeans. Madden decided to quit his pity party and, at the age of 11, he enrolled in the Paisley Arts Center youth theater program. He decided to do something about his weight when he was given a role in a school play where he had to perform naked.
Richard Madden then attended the Royal Conference of Glasgow Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD), where he graduated in 2007. Madden’s early roles included the lead role of Sebastian Simpkins in the television series Barmy Aunt Boomerang where he acted from 1999 to 2000.
He made his film debut playing the young Andy in Complicité (2000). After two more television roles, Madden landed the role of Robb Stark in the HBO fantasy drama. Game of Thrones which eventually became his breakout role. He left the show after his character died in the third season.

He is currently in a relationship with English actress and model Ellie Bamber. The couple started dating in the summer of 2017 and the news broke after they were spotted on a beach in Ibiza.

Ellie Bamber who has been acting since childhood is quite famous too. She was born on February 2, 1997 in Surrey, England. She is 11 years younger than Madden. Bamber was interested in acting from her studies at Hawley Place School and Wellington College. Despite her love for acting, she remains outstanding academically but turns down two acting scholarships to pursue her dream of becoming a professional actress.
She started out in theater and had roles in Sir Trevor Nunn’s production of Aspects of Love at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and High Society at the Old Vic, London. Although Bamber and Madden’s relationship seems to have been the first to come to the fore, Madden has had several high-profile relationships before. He dated Doctor Who Jenna Coleman from 2012 to 2015, before being linked to TV presenter Laura Whitmore and then model Suki Waterhouse.
