During her career at KJRH 2 Works for You, she has produced, written, and hosted several award-winning documentaries dedicated to health and welfare issues. “2 for the Cure: Life Stories” focused on three women battling breast cancer. They were truly inspiring, courageous women who offered tremendous support and encouragement during her own mother’s fight with breast cancer.

After that project, she together with her photographer, Aaron McColloch, developed another documentary on four people fighting four types of cancer. These programs won state, regional and national awards; including the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award from the RTNDA.

Shortly afterward, she spent a whole year producing and writing the documentary, “Shaking the Silence: Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention, Awareness, and Education.” Working with our talented photojournalists, she followed a young father from arrest to conviction until the day he reported to prison for fracturing his girlfriend’s baby’s skull.

The research team has tracked two young parents trying to deal with the brain injury and health problems of their son after his babysitter violently shook him and dropped him in his crib.

Later Tulsa’s Parent-Child Center, area clinics, and several high schools used the video to help raise awareness of the danger of shaking a helpless infant. “Shaking the Silence” has been awarded Best Documentary Awards by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Oklahoma Broadcasters Association.
