Jane Wade (also known as Holman) (born c1966) is a Tyneside multi-talented singer/actress from Newcastle.
Career
She started singing commercially in the 1980s punk scene in Newcastle with her group “Jazawaki”, who had a 1985 hit with the LP “Don’t Panic”; and later joined “the questionnaires” group.
She is Tyneside’s leading interpreter of the songs of Kurt Weill, composer of The Threepenny Opera etc.
She has also recorded as guest vocalist with “The Hush”, a local group from Tyneside formed in 2001 by Jed Grimes (guitar, vocals), Bob Fox (guitar, vocals), Paul Smith (drums, percussion), Neil Harland (bass), Graham Wood (keyboards) and Garry Linsley (sax). to record new arrangements of a range of songs from the vast repertoire of traditional songs from the North East of England.

She is also in demand as a vocal teacher and coach.
In her spare time she sings on soundtracks for National TV adverts”.
In the theatre she has performed one-woman shows about the life of Alma Cogan and Lotte Lenya, and starred in a show written by Jon Miles (Tina Turner’s guitarist)., and “Lush Life” in which she sang the songs of Ella Fitzgerald.
