Elway played football as a quarterback during his days as a youngster, at Stanford University, before he got signed with the Denver Broncos.
His playing career shows a record of 148 victories, 774 rushing attempts, and 3,407 rushing yards.
Elway is still one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. He however retired in 1999.
In 2000 Elway was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, and in 2004, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
In 2019, he became chairman of the AFL’s executive committee.
Aside being a football executive, Elway is a co-owner of the Arena Football team Colorado Crush.
He also owns four steakhouse restaurants, located strategic places in Denver such as airports and shopping malls.
