Brooks Atwood (Innovation)
A designer, architect, and innovator Atwood is heading up innovation in the upcoming show. He has gained notoriety as one of the world’s renowned innovative creators.
He launched his international design studio, Brooks Atwood Design, in Brooklyn in 2003.
With years of experience and a strong background in architecture, the designer brings a distinctive perspective to the four-expert team.
People may remember the expert from his participation in the HGTV show Design Star Season 8, where he finished as a finalist.
Speaking about the newest show, Atwood says it “offers a unique look and take into what goes into a home renovation, through the lens of innovation.”
Jessica Banks (Engineering)
Banks is taking on the engineering task. She is a renowned entrepreneur, inventor, and roboticist holding a degree in Engineering and Robotics from MIT.
She is the founder of a kinetic furniture company called RockPaperRobot (RPR), which remodels traditionally static furniture into interactive objects.
Jessica is known for her thought-provoking and versatile designs.

Ati Williams (Construction)
Williams is assisting by leading Construction in Hack My Home. A self-proclaimed Renovation Ninja, she is a certified general contractor, designer, and the mind behind Honeycomb.
Her interest in renovation sparked after she bought her first home in 2004. Since then, Ati has worked on countless renovation projects, from complete gut rehabs to cosmetic builds.
She established Honeycomb, a platform that allows homeowners to experience the designing and renovating process of their homes.
Her work is featured in multiple prestigious publications and on television networks, such as MSNBC, CNN, Good Morning America, and The New York Times.
Mikel Welch (Design)
Welch, a celebrity interior designer, on-air personality, and design expert, is working on designs. He gained recognition as a contestant in Design Star Season 7.
He is also the senior set decorator for the popular Emmy Award-winning The Steve Harvey Show.
The Southfield, Michigan native has designed rooms for prominent figures in the industry, including Michelle Obama, Steve Harvey, Joan Rivers, Tyler Perry, Halle Berry, and Oprah Winfrey.
He operates a New York-based interior design business, Mikel Welch Designs. Moreover, Mikel is a host and designer on Quibi’s Murder House Flip.
In January 2020, House Beautiful named Welch among the 2020 NEXT WAVE designers.
His work has been featured in Traditional Home, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, and several other shelter magazines.
Where Was Hack My Home Filmed?
Hack My Home was filmed in and around Atlanta in Georgia. The casting calls were out in late 2021.
The shooting for the debut season seemingly began around the first half of 2022.
It appears that almost all of the show’s pivotal sequences were shot in Atlanta and its surroundings. The experts meet and help deserving homeowners living across the city in different neighborhoods.
Both the interior scenes as the four renovating gurus work their plans, as well as the exterior shots when they travel to the residential properties, are lensed on location.
As there are multiple exterior sequences featured in each episode of the show, viewers will notice some (if not all) of the popular buildings and landmarks in the backdrop.
Some of them include the Bank of America Plaza, Marriott Marquis Hotel, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Georgia Aquarium, Tower Square, Promenade II, and the World of Coca-Cola.
Home to three major high-rise districts -Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead- Atlanta is divided into 242 officially defined neighborhoods.

The home renovation series features eight half-hour episodes following four design experts on their quest to solve the space issues of different families.
The show focuses on the unifying struggle shared by all the profiled families: the need for more space in their homes.
Each episode revolves around a family, as a team of experts works together to give them the best resolutions to their problems.
Netflix released the first trailer of the show on June 22, giving glimpses of the creative ways the innovation gurus add more storage and potential to tight spaces.
In the clip, Brooks explains why their expertise is needed. “A living room is no longer just a living room. It’s an office or a bedroom or a classroom. Families are struggling to make it work,” he says.
The trailer also included a few examples of different ways the design wizards create more space, like adding a secret compartment or a motorized bed.
Each renovator also shares a tidbit about their prowess, with Williams saying, “I take scribbled-down ideas and turn them into a concrete plan.”
Atwood explains how he enjoys coming up with new ideas and calls his inventive gene his “superpower.”
