Shevanti Mangeshkar is mostly known as the mother of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Being a Gujrati, she got married to her Marathi husband Deenanath Mangeshkar in the year 1927 and is the mother of legendary singers in India. Very little is known about Shevanti other than her family tree. She was the second wife of Pandit Deenanath.
From a genetically strong musical family, Shevanti gave birth to Lata Mangeshkar, Meena Khadikar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar and, Hridaynath Mangeshkar. All of them have shined in the Indian music scene and also internationally.
Her husband Deenanath taught music to Lata Ji when she was only five years old. They belonged to Madhya Pradesh, Indore City.
