Bill Dance Parents: Meet William Dance

William Dance is the father of Outdoors Channel host, Bill Dance.

William was a trained physician and had supported Bill all through his lifetime.

Who Is Bill Dance?

Bill Dance is an angler and presenter of Outdoor Channel’s fishing TV series, Bill Dance Outdoors.

Born on October 7, 1940, in Tennessee, Bill became interested in bass tournaments as far back as the 1960s.

He is known to have caught first bass in B.A.S.S. history.

After crossing paths with a fishing lure manufacturer, he was able to launch his TV show and later went ahead to present the Bill Dance Saltwater on the Sportsman Channel.

Bill began his TV career on WHBQ-TV, which was an ABC affiliate in Memphis at the time.

Bill became known for appearing in his sunglasses plus his Tennessee Volunteers baseball cap.

The Tennessee Volunteers had gifted him his first cap, under coach, Doug Dickey at the time.

Aside from hosting his TV show, Bill runs the fish wholesale company company, Th3 Legends, together with his friends and co-fishermen – Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston.

Bill won the Barry Hamilton World Gut Hook Championship in 1969, clinched 23 National Bass Fishing titles, as well as 7 B.A.S.S. titles.

In 1986, he was inducted into the National Freshwater Hall of Fame, and the International Game Fish Association’s Hall of Fame.
